Information Management Officer (PMD focus)
Location: Baghdad / cover 8 governments
- The Information Management Officer will facilitate data collection and presentation for project activities, taking primary responsibility, in particular, for data related to legal service provision.
- The Information Management Officer will work closely with the field teams to help prepare lawyers for direct entry of their case information in the PMD (Using the LARF (legal cases forms)) . During the period, while the transition is ongoing, he or she will continue to work with the Reporting Officers of each PARC to ensure that data entry remains ongoing.
- Information Management Officer will be the primary person responsible for generating key quantitative reports, namely, at present, the Indicator Tracking Sheets (for all activities, including those beyond legal services) and the Master Tracking Sheet.
·In terms of performance evaluation, the criteria shall relate primarily to the quality – accuracy and scope, i.e. comprehensiveness – of the data collected and available. In terms of accuracy, it is important to note that the Information Management Officer will be responsible for ensuring that data accurately reflects program activities (through appropriate due diligence, including follow-up with staff and audits of primary sources where necessary). In order to be “available,” data should be presented in an easy-to-understand format and thus clarity of presentation shall also be a basis for performance review. The Information Management Officer should be prepared to provide stored information in response to ad hoc requests using a logical, streamlined format (i.e. one tailored to the specific request itself).
·In terms of periodic data collection, serve as the primary person responsible for ensuring the entry of accurate, up-to-date information with respect to legal services. This includes facilitating the transition to the new system, whereby lawyers will input their case information directly, by overseeing data entry in January and February and, during that time and thereafter, by helping to build the lawyers’ capacity through the provision of feedback on an ongoing basis.
· Ensure the quality of data, in terms of both its accuracy and its breadth (i.e. the extent to which it comprehensively reflects program activities). To this end, follow up with field teams as necessary and audit data for accuracy, including by verifying data through the analysis of primary sources (e.g. LARF forms or certain case documents).
· In terms of reporting, generate quantitate reports on a periodic and ad hoc basis, including the primary tracking sheets (at present, the Indicator Tracking Sheets and Master Tracking Sheet). The Information Management Officer should be prepared to improve upon existing systems and provide other reports as necessary.
· Ensure that data is presented in easy-to-read (or easy-to-understand) formats.
· Demonstrate leadership and analytical ability, including with respect to work within the broader Information Management Team.
· Otherwise provide ongoing support and training to other staff, including field teams, to ensure quality and facilitate monitoring and evaluation activities.
· Perform other duties, as needed or requested by the Supervisor.
